About us
How we started
Families in Motion began as a collaboration between three cousins who were raised in West Guilford. We grew up participating in children’s programs offered at the West Guilford Recreation Centre. We are nostalgic about our time spent there and we began to have some ideas about what we could do for this generation of kids in our community.
In July 2022 we opened the DropZone at the West Guilford Recreation Centre and the community support was overwhelmingly positive. Families began to gather at the DropZone on Fridays to eat at the Snack Bar, then stay and play together.
We find it humbling that so many kids and their parents also choose the DropZone to celebrate birthdays, holidays and other family functions.
Community Support
It is an honour to serve this community by providing a place for families to spend quality time together and socialize with their friends and neighbours. The DropZone continues to grow and improve with enthusiastic support from our community. Best of all, after more than 3 years, we still see new faces that become regular patrons.
